Holiday Happenings in the Wright World

A number of Frank Lloyd Wright public sites offer special events for the holidays. It's the perfect time of the year to turn out in support of your local Wright site. Check out a few of the holiday happenings.

Through December 31
Springfield, Illinois
Experience a Springfield tradition with evening tours and treats at the Dana-Thomas House from Thanksgiving through New Year's Eve, originating when Susan Lawrence Dana presented her newly completed Wright house to a delighted Springfield audience.

Through December 31
Silverton, Oregon
The community was invited to enter gingerbread houses for this festive exhibition now open in the living room at Wright's Gordon House.

Through January 3
Chicago, Illinois and Racine, Wisconsin
As part of the Chicago Architecture Biennial, SC Johnson is offering free bus service from Chicago to tour Wright's Administration Building, Research Tower, Wingspread and more Thursdays through Sundays.

Through January 15
St. Louis, Missouri
See a collection of colorful ornaments handcrafted by artist Russell Kraus, original owner of the Kraus House, on display during a docent-led tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright House in Ebsworth Park.

December 5-30
Buffalo, New York
Enjoy festive decor and free hot mulled cider following a "Yuletide Tour" of Graycliff.

December 12
Spring Green, Wisconsin
For one day only the estate will be open for horse-drawn wagon rides and the newly restored Tan-y-Deri will be open for beverages by the fireside. Kids activities will be offered in the Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center and the Riverview Spring Green Restaurant will be open for lunch.

December 31
Bartlesville, Oklahoma
Ring in the new year at Wright's Price Tower with the annual Olive Drop New Year's Eve celebration, with music, dancing, hors d'oeuvres, special cocktails, party favors and a champagne toast at midnight.
